I know, I know.....I promise to finish it and post it soon.....
I am encountering a serious writer's block, it seems that anything I write will never really explain and give the feeling that I had when I finally found Polo and started speaking to him...
But I think I will have to settle for realising that certain moment can never completly be captured in words...

14 August I found Polito Torres!!!!!!!
I have not been able to publish anything on the blog until now...many many things have happened in this week...
The most amazing was to finally find Polito Torres..... I will publish the interview later on the blog.
What do you say to a campesino revolutionary who was fighting next to the Che to free Cuba? I admit I was quite nervous when I shook his hand...
The first thing he asked me sitting on his porch in Manzanillo, next to la Sierra Maestra, was<'where are you from?' and when I said'From Sardinia' I had a reply I never would have expected....
'I was in Italy a few years ago and of the 22 cities I visited the place that I enjoyed the most is your island Sardinia, are you from Cagliari?' .....I was about to fall off my chair when I heard this...."
The rest will follow shortly once I finished editing the interview...all I can say for now is that it has been one of the strongest experiences of my life so far....
See you all soon

Ready to leave....
Well here I am...ready to leave...as usual I leave things for the last minute so my bag is still not packed and I have not found a car to rent... getting in touch with the companies in Habana from here is a joke....so I will have to sort it out once I arrive...
What I do have is a phone number for Camillo Guevara March...! thanks to a colleague in the office (thank you Pascal) who has been 'briefing' me for the 'mission'.....
I also have some CUC, the Cuban currency for foreigners....some mosquito repellant, sun screen, my camera, my books and notes on Che and ....a good dose of naive optimisim that I will accomplish what I set out to do...or at least enjoy the process of trying to...
Hasta la victoria siempre....a ver si lo que decia el Che me va aportar un poquito de buena suerte!
Un abrazo y hasta pronto
